Environmental chemistry, both in nature and in environmental engineering processes are important areas. Microbiology is included in all environmental biotechnology.
Moreover, work on issues related to the handling of solid waste and we examine how chemical contaminants from landfills affect the environment.
Water supply, wastewater treatment and water handling in urban areas is another important area for DTU Environment. The effect of climate changes on urban water is investigated.
Water and soil are important but limited resources that society should manage wisely. The Department has considerable expertise in groundwater and surface water, and management of water resources.
DTU Environment offers programs at undergraduate (Bachelor i Miljøteknologi), postgraduate (MSc Programme) and Ph.D. level, and continuing education programs mainly at academic level.
